Time 2 Go (Olivia's Lullaby)

"I sort of spontaneously wrote this as a lullaby to my daughter when she was maybe two years old. I was only 21 years old at the time and I worked in fast food. Her mother and grandfather had recently moved out of our apartment and we were very poor. I wasn't sure what the future would hold, but I wanted her to be able to have the idyllic youth that you see in movies. That's definitely what sets the tone for the song. It's that feeling of playing in the street or in the woods all day and then suddenly realizing the sun was setting and maybe being out alone at dark is a little scary so I better get home. Anyway, it became the song that I sang her almost every night for years. Now that she's growing up, I wanted to record a version for her to have for herself. I played all the instruments myself and spent my free time over the past week putting this together. Here it is."
